The mission in the Southwestern Mediterranean Sea

M.A.R.E. continues to expand its horizons, setting the course for the Southeastern Mediterranean in its upcoming edition. Another key milestone in marine research and conservation, featuring new studies, new routes, and a growing network of international collaborations.

THE ROUTES

Although the Mediterranean Sea Covers less than 1% of the world' ocean surface, it is home to 10% of all known marine species, making it a true biodiversity hotspot. However, its rich ecosystem is susceptible to human impact.

Protecting the Mediterranean Sea means protecting our future.
